Another Donna touching others through her own pain...

I am an RN recovering from breast cancer. I wanted to make a difference and give back so decided, through my church, to volunteer time at a clinic for underpriviledged people with health needs. What an awesome experience. We get to pray with our patients and spread the good word of Jesus, our saviour. I remember one lady that came in and appeared angry. She was verbally abuse to me which was different from most of the other patients. I smiled anyway and thanked her for coming in. At the end of the visit she started crying, apologized and asked me to pray with her. Her husband recently left her and she was having a very difficult time adjusting. We never know what people are feeling behind an angry facade. I am glad I stayed calm and was able to show Jesus' love for her.
This is one way I can make a difference and make things better for someone else even when I don't feel good.
